The Service-Prioritized Agent Network (SPAN) is a highly available agent infrastructure designed to provide distributed service level management and monitoring services.

Agents can be deployed on heterogeneous systems and bid to perform various system management functions. In the event of failures, the agents can gracefully degrade by canceling low priority tasks or switching to secondary service providers.
